Administration & Operations

Work behind the scenes to support the running of the church, its leadership, and the congregation.

Ministry Descriptions

Church Clerk & Assistants

If you have administrative skills and a heart to serve, you can put your talents and passions to work. Volunteers assist in administrative tasks such as providing secretariat support to church board and business meetings, managing church membership, records, and directories, and refilling office supplies. We welcome people with flexible schedules, administrative experience, and a great sense of humour. Find your perfect fit on our team!

Zoom Event Coordinators

Set up Zoom meetings for ministry leaders, create break-out rooms and moderate chats during weekly Prayer Meetings, quarterly Business Meetings, and other special events. Training will be available but you should already be comfortable using Zoom.

Transport

The Transport Team is responsible for the running and maintenance of the church mini-bus. This includes scheduling it for use by church members and ministries. If you’re organised and know a thing or two about vehicles, then this is role for you.

Finance (Treasurers)

Led by our church treasurer, our financial ministry provides oversight for all church finances, ensuring that accurate records are kept and that the church operates within the budget voted by the church board. A group of volunteers who meet each week to count and organise the previous Sabbath’s offerings and tithes, and the church’s finance committee, are two important segments of this ministry. Strict confidentiality is essential for the work of the local and conference treasurers.

Health & Safety

This team spearheads the implementation of safety measures in the church, focusing on developing safety programmes, creating emergency plans, conducting inspections, and investigating accidents. Part of emergency planning includes conducting regular drills. The team should also be involved in reviewing upcoming church activities for potential safety hazards and if any are identified, work with the relevant ministry to address the issues before the planned activity.

Building & Maintenance

Our building and maintenance team, led by a facilities manager, oversees all activities associated with the operation, maintenance, safety, and security of the buildings, grounds, furnishings and equipment owned by our church. They also ensure that we are provided with comfortable and clean facilities for our worship services and for other events that are held on site.

Safeguarding

Protecting the children and adults of the church comes through your purposeful attitudes and actions in your daily Christian walk. As a team, you will be responsible for creating or updating a protection plan for those involved in the church – children, adults and the vulnerable. The protection plan is a live document that needs to meet the requirements set out in statutory guidance from the Department of Health (DOH) Act 2014. As part of a trained team, you will also be involved in helping church volunteers complete the necessary training and background checks before they begin to help the church.
